NPC-5: A New Standard for California

NPC-5, or Nonstructural Performance Category 5, is a statewide requirement in California that ensures all hospitals can keep operating during emergencies. Hospitals must be able to operate 72 hours after a major earthquake or disaster, with enough potable and process water to keep essential equipment and utilities going.

Why it matters: when communities need hospitals most, NPC-5 helps ensure hospitals can maintain critical functions like patient care, sanitation, and food services during and after an emergency.

The compliance deadline is January 1, 2030, and our Tank Division is proud to be part of the solution. We're helping hospitals strengthen their emergency systems so they're prepared for whatever comes their way.
