Salesforce Tower

San Francisco, CA

Salesforce Tower is a 1.4 million-square-foot, 61-story landmark located adjacent to the Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco. Rising 1,070 feet, it is the tallest building on the West Coast and a defining feature of the city's skyline.

Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, the tower incorporates state-of-the-art security, life safety, and sustainability features. It serves as the centerpiece of a 145-acre mixed-use development that includes residential, hospitality, retail, and a major transit hub connecting to California's future high-speed rail system.

Pan-Pacific Mechanical was responsible for the installation of the core plumbing systems, including shell restrooms across 60 floors, with independent heating loops on every sixth floor. The team also installed stormwater filtration systems to support irrigation and reclaimed water use, contributing to the building's sustainability goals.

Additionally, Pan-Pacific performed the fuel oil system installation, including a 36,000-pound above-ground belly tank with remote fill and monitoring capabilities. One of the project's key challenges involved hoisting and setting the tank within the tower structure, requiring extensive coordination to ensure the building could safely support the load.

Salesforce Tower was among the first buildings to achieve pre-certified LEED Platinum status, reflecting its commitment to high-performance and environmentally responsible design.
