Stanford Pod D
Palo Alto, CA
As part of the renovation of the original hospital, Pod D transforms existing semi-private patient rooms into private accommodations, incorporating larger bathrooms and dedicated family areas to enhance patient comfort and recovery.
Pan-Pacific Mechanical (PPM) is responsible for the full mechanical scope of work, supporting the renovation of an acute care facility to create upgraded inpatient nursing units for cancer patient recovery. The project includes the conversion of dual-bed patient rooms into private rooms, along with comprehensive upgrades and replacements of MEP systems, IT infrastructure, and medical equipment.
Additional enhancements include new family spaces, as well as staff and public restrooms located outside the nursing units. The scope also involves replacement of the existing building envelope, exterior fenestration, and both main and penthouse roofing systems.
Interior work includes demolition and reconfiguration of partitions to support the new layout, along with new interior and exterior finishes, furniture, and fixtures. The project also integrates structural upgrades—including added structural steel in patient restrooms—and coordinated improvements across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, technology, fire alarm, and fire protection systems.
